In 2010 I was approached by an agency to set up a social media presence for their new client. This was my first project as Maria McGowan Communications.
At the time, Efficiency Nova Scotia was a new organization, an independent, non-profit organization to help Nova Scotians use energy better and save money. At the time, they needed assistance designing and implementing their social media strategy. This short-term project involved creating a social media engagement plan and creating/reporting metrics and key performance indicators.
After researching the business objectives for the organization, market insights and analysing how similar organizations were communicating in North America, we were ready to engage on exclusively on Twitter. Facebook and others were introduced later.
