My studies in Web Analytics at the University of British Columbia allowed me to effectively create and manage web analytics, set up the measurement of marketing campaigns, best practices in search engine optimization and web analytics for site optimization.

I am very comfortable using Google Analytics, Google AdWords and know how to play with HTML code (thanks to a NSCC web development course).

At Greater Halifax Partnership and the Canada Games Centre, I used the following tactics for day to day online management and/or campaigns:

• Quality Content: Utilized content such as blog posts, video, annual reports, press releases and articles on authority websites. Inserted links to various places on the organizations website to build exposure and drive traffic to the website.
• Keyword Strategy: Inserted related keywords into content to help the content and website show up in more search results, this led to higher volumes of web traffic.
  

  Social Media Guidelines

• Website Optimization: Ensured that the website was optimized and functioning at it’s best. You know how we like to visit a website that works properly 🙂
• Social Media: Crafted engaging social media posts to attract more traffic to the website. Used pictures, video, and other relevant media to help posts achieve more engagement.

Now for the metrics and KPI (Key Performance Indicators) part. If you’re going to have an online presence, you need to closely monitor it. This is why I love digital media – you can test and measure and adjust. Having a clear objective always helps too. Reports should be simple, actionable, and customized for the users needs.
